Dr. (Mrs.) Sreelekha Jayantha kumar graduated with a B.Sc.Ed. from the Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Mysore and has an M.Ed., MPhil and PhD from the University of Lagos. Her research was on Effects of Computer Simulations and Video-based instructional strategies on Senior Secondary school students’ achievements in Practical Physics.
She is a seasoned educationalist with over twenty two years of international experience in various curricula; specializing in Cambridge IGCSE, London G.C.E., CBSE and West African Examination Council. Her profound academic and administrative experience was gained from teaching in India (Chennai), Maldives, the Republic of Seychelles and Nigeria. She promotes technologically oriented teaching to help students stimulate and enhance creativity so as to produce active learners who can investigate concepts and ideas, which may lead to National and International significance. To further her career, she had participated in various Professional Development programmes offered by the University of Cambridge. Back at home, she has been rendering ‘Learning skills’ talk, for the programme ASAP, a Kerala government initiative. She has published articles in the Global Journal of Human-Social Science, USA; Journal of Education in Developing Areas, Nigeria; International Journal of Educational Research and Technology, India and presented an article in International Conference on Physics Education (ICPE) 2018, South Africa. Overall, it’s her passion to train student teachers or educators to deliver lessons effectively and create a student centered teaching environment in schools so as to nurture creative and innovative younger generation.
